As I’m sure you have heard from someone before… if not from me, “You have to first condition your mind to believe, before anything can become reality.” To make your next dollar, you must be thinking about how you are going to get it… To become a top performer in any field, you must first believe you are one. To become a millionaire, you must have a millionaire mind.
I’ve given several examples out of the book, “Automatic Millionaire” about the difference between short term and long term wealth building strategies. The question was posed; Which would you rather receive? One million dollars cash today or 1 penny, doubled each day, for thirty days? Most people when asked, say they would rather take the penny, but they never really have an answer as to why. They just figure it must be worth more in the long run or the question would never be asked in the first place. I’ve done the math and in fact, over a 30-day period the penny increases in value to $5,368,709.12. Often, when sharing this little-known fact, I’m told, “No way! There is no way a penny could become that much so rapidly.” So… to demonstrate this, I have done all the calculations… it turns into something like this:

The funny thing is… when I look at this, it is almost like starting a business and trying to make a profit. In the beginning you struggle a lot to get things going and afterwards once it reaches to a point… it just takes off smoothly. How does that analogy go again… “Starting a business is like a rocket ship taking off into space. You spend 90% of your fuel during takeoff and once it reaches a certain point it flies smoothly with minimal consumption.” Before any of this can happen of course, you must believe it is possible. You will be amazed at all the things you can accomplish when you “believe” in yourself. Also, remember to possess long-term thinking in your success process. “What are you doing today, to make your next dollar, friend or fond memory?”
