Thanksgiving has always been a holiday centered around family. We gather, we slow down, and hopefully we take a moment to appreciate the people who shape our lives. Just last night, while attending a Friendsgiving celebration hosted by one of my closest friends, I was reminded of something just as important. Friendship deserves its own place of gratitude. Friendship deserves its own table.
Friendships are plentiful at Intero, obvious at many office events, including Thanksgiving gatherings. Each celebration takes on its own flavor. Each one has its own traditions. Yet the constant theme is the same. Laughter. Connection. A sense of “these are my people.” And it hit me again that one of the greatest gifts that come with my job, is that I get to walk into the office every day and feel surrounded by friends. That is something I do not take lightly. It is a blessing, and I am truly thankful for it.
When we talk about culture, we often talk about values, principles, growth, learning, and leadership. All that matters, but friendships inside the workplace are the quiet engine that makes everything run smoother. The friendships you enjoy reduce stress. They increase collaboration. They create an environment where people feel safe enough to ask for help, to try something new, and to stretch beyond what they thought they could do. Friendship removes the fear of judgment and replaces it with encouragement. It turns an office from a place you go to work into a place where you want to be.
In real estate, friendships often become one of the greatest differentiators in an agent’s career. Clients feel the difference when they walk into an office that has genuine warmth and camaraderie. They may not be able to define it, but they can certainly feel it. That sense of belonging translates to better service, more thoughtful collaboration, and a level of care you simply cannot manufacture. It is culture at its purest form.
As we approach Thanksgiving, I hope you take a moment to reflect on the friendships that have shaped your journey. Think about the person who answered your questions on your first day. The colleague who helped you through a tough deal. The friend who listens without judgment. The teammate who makes the day a little lighter. These are the relationships that elevate our work and enrich our lives.
I am grateful for this company. I am grateful for what we stand for. Most importantly, I am grateful for the friendships that make Intero feel like a family. Thank you for being part of what makes this place special.
Wishing you all a warm, joyful, friendship-filled Thanksgiving.
