I’ve always believed that one of the most important investments we can make in ourselves is the investment of our time. Unlike money, which we can earn, save, and occasionally recover when we’ve made a poor decision, time is a resource that we can never get back. Every day, we make decisions about how we’re going to spend it, and whether we realize it or not, those decisions are shaping our future.
Think about that for a moment. Every time we choose to make another prospecting call, attend a training session, strengthen a client relationship, or learn a new skill, we’re making an investment in our future. Conversely, every time we convince ourselves that something can wait until tomorrow, we’re potentially negotiating away an opportunity that may never present itself again. The interesting thing about these decisions is that we rarely see their consequences immediately. Their impact tends to reveal itself weeks, months, or even years down the road.
As we enter the final quarter of 2026, I suspect many of us are beginning to think about what we’d like to accomplish in 2027. Perhaps it’s increasing our production, expanding our client base, improving our efficiency, or simply finding a better balance between our professional and personal lives. Whatever those goals might be, I’d encourage you to consider something: Your success in 2027 won’t begin on January 1st. In many respects, it’s being determined by the decisions you’re making right now.
That brings me to an exciting opportunity that’s quickly approaching. On November 2nd, our agents will gain access to Maestro, our new technology platform. This represents a significant investment in the future of our company and, more importantly, in the future success of our agents. Maestro will introduce new capabilities and opportunities to improve how we manage our businesses, engage with our clients, and leverage technology to become more productive and effective real estate professionals.
But here’s something worth considering. The true value of any technology isn’t determined by what it’s capable of doing. It’s determined by what we’re willing to learn and how effectively we put that knowledge to work. We can provide the tools, the resources, and the opportunities, but the decision to invest the time necessary to master them ultimately rests with each of us.
I recognize that learning a new technology platform requires an investment of time, and time is something that none of us seem to have enough of. Between client appointments, transactions, prospecting, and the countless responsibilities that fill our calendars, it’s easy to convince ourselves that we’ll get around to learning something new when things slow down. Unfortunately, in our business, that magical moment when everything slows down rarely seems to arrive.
My encouragement is to resist that temptation. When November 2nd arrives, make exploring Maestro a priority. Set aside dedicated time to familiarize yourself with its capabilities. Participate in the training opportunities that become available. Ask questions, experiment, and challenge yourself to become comfortable with something that may initially feel unfamiliar. You don’t need to master everything overnight, but you do need to make the commitment to begin.
I’ve witnessed enough change throughout my career to know that the people who benefit most from innovation aren’t necessarily those who are the most technologically sophisticated. More often, they’re the people who recognize an opportunity early, embrace the learning curve, and have the discipline to follow through. While others are waiting for the perfect time to get started, they’re already developing the skills and confidence that will eventually give them a competitive advantage.
As we look toward 2027, I believe Maestro has the potential to become an important differentiator for our agents. But that potential will only be realized through adoption, engagement, and a willingness to invest in ourselves. The hours you dedicate to learning the platform in November and December may very well become some of the most productive hours you invest in your business this year.
So, as you consider how you’ll spend the remaining weeks of 2026, remember that you’re doing more than managing your calendar. You’re making decisions that will influence your opportunities, your productivity, and ultimately your success in the year ahead.
Your future is being negotiated today. Make sure you’re getting a good deal.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
